Tackling food waste and building community with surplus
The food justice network for Manchester (Food Justice MCR) is an organisation of community-minded volunteers that identify surplus food in our cachement and convert it into opportunity. Whether it's the simple act of making food available for those who want or need it, or underpinning community events with a good meal - food is an irreplaceable component of community. Scroll down to chat to us about how you can contribute.
*Please use this form if you are requesting food for a one off basis for your organisation. Due to the nature of surplus food, we cannot guarantee any requests made and quantities and food types may differ. FJN's aims are to use surplus food to build community power by redirecting capitalist waste. We favour requests that encourage collective cooking, creates conversations, builds pathways to food sovereignty and benefits more than one group of people. If successful, there will be a £30 charge for your food request so please ensure you have these funds available before making your request.

Often we pick up food-to-go; individually wrapped food that is expiring within 1-2 days of our pickup. This food is dynamically delivered to shelters of people who may need immediate relief.
If your organisation would like to be considered for occasional deliveries of food-to-go, then get in touch.
